Spanish Tapas,New York Style

161 East Houston Street
New York,NY 10002

East Houston Streethas gone from a street to avoid after dark, to a street jammed with yuppies on a Saturday night. Close to Whole Foods, Oliva is the equivalent of a Spanish Taverna in NYC.

Just like in Spain there is a good assortment of tapas. However Oliva’s tapas are more generous, closer to media racciones

The chef knows his stuff and several dishes are very nice. Try the Setas a la plancha, a simple dish of sautéed mushrooms, tomato and potatoes, but done professionally. The paellas were also very good, I had the Paella Valenciana rich with Spanish sausage, chicken and rabbit.

The main problem, I had with Oliva is that the tables have no space between them, so there is no intimacy.

At Ditmas Estates LLC, real estate, we believe that your neighborhood, its restaurants, stores and services is as important as the home you buy.

Dinner for two with Sangria is about $ 80.
